Welcome to Dynamic Decades Living!(Formerly Aging in Purpose)

If you’ve been following along with Aging in Purpose, you’ll notice a change around here—starting with the name!

I’m thrilled to share that this blog and the community it supports will now be known as

Dynamic Decades Living.

Dynamic Decades Living is a space for women navigating the art of aging and beyond with intention, resilience, a bit of humor, and a deep desire to continue learning, laughing, and thriving.

This isn’t just about a rebrand. It’s about my vision. I’ve had quite a few conversations with myself about what I hope to say and achieve with my blog. What’s my point? It has taken some time to discover and develop my ideas and plan. Vacillating between two thoughts: leave everything as it is or make some changes. Stay or shift…During this period in my life, I seem to be gaining considerable experience in deciding between contemplation and action, as well as recognizing when to sit still and when to take action. I often feel that I am on a winding road with lots of hills and curves. How about you? After much thoughtful introspection, I decided this was the time to make a few shifts.

Why the Name Change?

Like many changes in my life, this one required reflection, honest soul-searching, dedicated curiosity, and a strong cup of tea—(or three).

I have fond memories of a wonderful mentor in my herbal program many years ago who often asked us to consider the following question as we moved forward with our studies, practices, and lives: Is this a story big enough to live in?” It is a question I often ponder and consider, even after this many years have passed. It helps me to think about possibilities and, frequently, to consider a larger purpose and contribution. And I realized this is the time to grow into a story that fully reflects the vitality, wisdom, and joy I wish to share with this community.

Dynamic Decades Living is a space for women navigating the art of aging and beyond with intention, resilience, a bit of humor, and a deep desire to continue learning, laughing, and thriving. It’s about more than aging in purpose—it’s about living dynamically, with curiosity, grace, intention, and resilience.

Springtime, Seeds & Shifting Soil

In my Dynamic Decades Membership Group, we often discuss the concept of planting seeds when creating a new goal or action.

  • Seeds require planning.

  • A vision for what could be.

  • Nurturing through unknowns.

  • Flexibility when the conditions change.

  • Tending to it, although we don’t immediately see evidence of growth.

Does this sound familiar? That’s how we have approached our goals, action plans, growth, and even setbacks. This process can be messy, unpredictable, frustrating, challenging, and excitingly beautiful! How appropriate, then, that this name change arrives this spring!

I began to reflect on the seeds I planted when writing this blog. I write things down using my system of goal setting and planning, which I named POEM, which stands for Plan, Organize, Execute, Measure. It continues to help me decide how to navigate forward- whether to continue on the same path or if it is time to rethink, regroup, and redesign a new ‘seed’ or ‘plan.’

There have certainly been times in my life when I have jumped too quickly or changed my mind before letting things unfold a bit longer. With experience, I feel like I am learning to trust my ‘gut’ or intuition with the same importance as learning from others who master what I wish to achieve. I take a moment to check in with myself to see if my decision moves me closer to my goal or further away. Revisiting past experiences continues to be a great teacher- and allows me to weigh my options more carefully.

All things considered, my decision and new ‘seed’ this spring is to expand the vision, voice, and community of those interested in dynamically aging. This blog will serve as an invitation and space to reflect, recharge, and reconnect with your purpose and power.

What’s Staying the Same?

You’ll still find thoughtful posts here on:

  • Wellness, nutrition & vitality

  • Navigating transitions with grace

  • Embracing aging as expansion

  • Mindfulness, relationships, and real talk

  • My adventures—like enrolling in nursing school at 62!

What’s Changing?

As I continue to move forward, a few more changes will result from other seeds I planted last year—and the clarity of experience will enable me to continue my vision of celebrating women who embrace aging with enthusiasm.

Unapologetically Aging, One Decade at a Time! So, stay tuned—another exciting announcement is coming soon!

In the meantime, let this be YOUR reminder: You can decide that you are not done growing. You can decide that you are not done dreaming.

You can decide that there is so much more to explore.

At the same time, you can decide that your life is fantastic just the way it is and that you want to focus on enjoying it—no changes are required! We can all celebrate with you!

Let’s Live This Big Story—Together

Dynamic Decades Living isn’t just a name. It’s an invitation to a community. To keep growing. To keep adapting

.

To keep curious. To keep showing up—with humor, heart, and hope.

Where are you in creating a story and life “big enough to live in?” Where is your focus? If you are facing challenges, can you find the support you need? I often ask my coaching clients and groups, “How are you celebrating successes?” Sometimes, it can be easy to forget to take a moment to be grateful and have fun when we acknowledge that we accomplished a goal or when our plans unfolded as we had designed. We often tend to focus on moving on to the ‘next item on our list’ without taking a moment to enjoy our achievements.

For me, the most incredible part of aging is the continued learning and inspiration I find in those who navigate difficult circumstances and model how to move through them with tenacity and determination, as well as those who have fabulous lives and share optimism, fun, and humor, modeling gratitude and living a life with gusto!

Thank you for being here, reading, reflecting, and growing with me. I can’t wait to see where these winding paths and roads take us!
